Questions, bugs or ideas about the hemsor.run app? Write to thomas.heym@clusterfreak.de.
Why don't I see any workouts?
The app needs your permission for Apple Health. Open the Health app, tap your profile picture in the top right, then Apps → hemsor.run, and turn on all categories. Then tap “Reload workouts” in hemsor.run's settings.
Running and hiking workouts are counted. Which of them are evaluated is set in the app's settings under “Workout types”.
I don't record workouts – is the app still useful?
Yes. hemsor.run also evaluates the daily steps your iPhone counts on its own: steps today, average per day, months and best day. Without workouts, the trip around the world automatically counts your whole daily distance.
What does the trip around the world count?
By default, the distance of your workouts. In the settings under “Around the world” you can switch to “All steps” – then the whole walking and running distance of every day counts, workouts included.
Why is elevation gain missing for some runs?
Elevation gain is only available if the workout recorded it – for example, not for treadmill runs. Such runs count as 0 m.
Are workouts from other apps included?
Yes, as long as those apps (e.g. Garmin Connect or Strava) save their workouts to Apple Health.
Can I try the app without workouts of my own?
Yes: turn on “Show sample data” in the settings. The app then shows sample workouts until you end demo mode.
Is my data uploaded?
No. All data stays on your iPhone. See the privacy policy for details.
